This prize is to be presented to the paper or presentation, that in the opinion of the judges does the most to advance the actuarial theory and practice of general insurance. Judges' comments: ‘Anti-discrimination Insurance Pricing: Regulations, Fairness Criteria and Models’ is a worthy recipient of the Carol Dolan Prize. This paper provides a comprehensive summary of indirect discrimination and proposes solutions to improve fairness in general insurance pricing. It advances the profession’s knowledge of algorithmic fairness and sets out a clear direction for future research. The judging panel were particularly impressed by the demonstrated link between regulations, fairness measures and different pricing model approaches.'
